Through the generosity of an anonymous supporter, we have been able to reduce the participation fee to $2700 – a savings of $300! The participation fee covers all program costs within Lebanon, including training and materials, volunteer placements, program contributions to service projects, accommodations, all meals except for up to five lunch or evening meals, reflection group sessions, final debriefing and evaluation, in-country ground transportation from the initial meeting point in Beirut to all three base camps, all transportation within the program for volunteer activities and tours, tour entrance fees and guides, and experienced Learning to CARE Institute staff.
We are also offering a special promotion to encourage participants to bring other youth into the program. We will give a reduction in their participation fee of $100 for every person they recruit who is accepted and actually becomes a participant in the program. That person, in turn, can also participate in this promotion if he/she brings in other participants. While applicants have been informed of this when they registered this information was not on the website until now.
Finally, to respond to a number of requests by potential participants, we have decided to also accept Lebanese living in Lebanon, and others from outside Lebanon who are not of Lebanese heritage, though the program continues to have special features for youth of Lebanese heritage.
